Good win for him although not impressive. A couple more and he might convince Dana Douche to bring him back. Log in to Reply inanebignate September 22, 2012 yea its even crazier that he has not been put on alot (if any) weight to fight at 205 he is pretty much the same size as he was when he fought at 170!! I gotta say its pretty weird seeing him fight somebody almost as big as him lol Log in to Reply Wilash September 22, 2012 Don’t agree with the standing restarts off the ropes, especially when Jake had set up an under arm guilotine… Log in to Reply scottc September 22, 2012 It drives me crazy seeing MMA fights in a boxing ring. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Even during the Pride days it made no sense. It takes away any chance of pressing your opponent up against it for dirty boxing and takedowns which is an important aspect of MMA fighting. The ref has to stop the action and reset it if they go through the ropes. Sure it gives a striker more of a chance for standup but MMA is a sport that encompasses many types of fighting arts and should not be limited at all. Log in to Reply Drew September 22, 2012 I think Johnson could’ve finished him twice, but twice decided to go for a takedown instead. Never sure why guys do that. I think Anthony could have beat Vitor, But didnt finish the fight Log in to Reply thaifighter September 22, 2012 i see your point scottc but you have consider the fact that head stomp and soccer kick is not allow in the ufc(cage fighting)because of he danger that the fighter could easily got pressed into the corner and head stomp. the fighter would have no where to move and defense themself. Log in to Reply thaifighter September 22, 2012 In Pride, they used the ring so it would be a good argument to the japanese commisioner to allow soccer kick because the fighter can move out of the ring to avoid blows from kick to the face. which is the whole point of mma to simulate the real fight as much as possible ;therefore, every limbs in your body should be a should be allow to use for attacking right? Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim September 22, 2012 @scottc actually the ring is better. it forces grapplers to grapple rather than bull charge with the safety of the cage to save their reckless takedown attempts. the cage ONLY helps wrestlers and that is why wrestlers never did very good in pride, at least not as good as the ufc. also you can press people against the ropes and dirty box, u dont need a cage for that. another thing is the cage allows for lay n pray while in a ring there is less lay n pray because of the ropes. the grappling matches were way better in pride. nowadays you got losers like greg jackson yelling “don’t pass guard, stuff his head into the cage!” Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
