Insane, how do you make 170 (on occasion) and NOT make 185? Who are his coaches? Michael Moore and Oprah? Why don’t some of these sand baggers get with BETTER CAMPS with BETTER MANAGERS AN TRAINERS? How stupid do you have to be not not make a HIGHER UP WEIGHT?

The lame part is it’s hard to hate Johnson because he seems like a legit guy but I’m going to want to see a KO after this s***.

ginko biloba Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:09:33 from

ahahaha 12lbs over! thats a joke. thats gotta be one of the worst weigh-ins ever. Dana can’t be too pleased. How did this guy used to fight at 170?

tonysnow Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:12:09 from

C’mon son, welterweight all that time and you can’t make middleweight?

Powertele Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:19:32 from

This is not cool. Anthony Johnson may very well be another the best there never was. He is always off in his mind and can never seem to get full control of the emotional trauma that happened to him when he was a child and his mother lost custody of him. A shame when we cannot see people in our world at their best. I Vitor wins because any other way it will not be fair. Keep living in love my MMA fans and warriors. Thank you again Mr. Bruno for making this group of ours.

monkeysoda Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:21:40 from

this is f***** up for Vitor! hes in a bad spot cause he cant call the fight off cause the fans will lose out. 12 lbs is a lot in the fight game…bummer

AznPersuazn Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:25:50 from

So unprofessional. Just for that I hope Vitor wins.

lorenzo Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:27:31 from

that must be a joke!!after all this hype??

leeman Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:34:05 from

what a dickhead

Arch Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:35:57 from

Well, that’s one strategy. If he wins, his win bonus could make up for the 20% loss.

idayvoz Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:40:43 from

WTF?? Johnson?? f****** disrespect man…the trainers/couches should of monitor his weight, wtf??

Dana it’s going to have a fit…

shocktime Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:45:29 from

Dude 12 lbs!?!? Holy crap maybe he should move up to Light Heavy! 12 lbs?!!!? Man! He should be ashamed of himself

capz1020 Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:47:16 from

Vitor is smart for not allowing Johnson to be more than 205, Vitor will probably be close to that around fight time while Johnson will have to struggle to stay that light. Theres a good chance Vitor and Johnson will come in at the same weight and I bet Belfort will feel much better, plus he can play the underdog role.

Shaikan Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:47:26 from

I can’t believe this actually happened LOL. The whole reason why Johnson moved up a weight class is because he had so many troubles making it to WW and now he can’t make it to MW! what a joke!

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:47:59 from

Wow this must be unprecedented.

JoeDog Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:57:30 from

How? At this level of competition and training, you would think one would step on the scales now and again. WTF!

jake Says, in 1-13-2012 at 17:57:32 from

Are you f***** kidding me?? What was he eating burgers the day of the weigh in?? Did he even TRY to cut??

the jizzle Says, in 1-13-2012 at 18:03:56 from

i think everyone is forgetting he let himself go up to 230 in his off time..once you get to a certain weight its near impossible to go back down to normal, hence the move up in weight class.

Tendojitsu Says, in 1-13-2012 at 18:06:25 from

Probably thought he was fighting Vitor at Light Heavyweight…

steamachine Says, in 1-13-2012 at 18:19:52 from

wow! this guy has always had weight issues. it would be silly for me to sit here drinkin a beer and rag on him for missing weight, but then again, I’m not a “professional” fighter. it’s your job man. do it right or find another one. you guys saying this is a shitty situation are absolutely right. if Anthony wins he won’t get full credit cuz he came in so much heavier than Vitor and if he loses he just looks like total s***.

ericssson Says, in 1-13-2012 at 18:20:46 from

PitfighterZ Says, in 1-13-2012 at 18:44:57 from

187 is missing weight. 197 is cheating, pure and simple. I think they should make him lose the 12 by tomorrow. That would teach him not to do this sh*t ever again.
And 20%? Hell no! 20% is if you miss for a pound or two. 12 pounds should be at least 50%.

PitfighterZ Says, in 1-13-2012 at 18:46:34 from

And, yes, Bruno, “Big Fat Fighter” is absolutely correct!

T’Challa Says, in 1-13-2012 at 19:06:34 from

COME ON MAN!!! Rumble seems like a good guy, but he is downright unfocused & unprofessional.. how many times has he missed weight??

I really wanted to root for him, but 12 freakin’ pounds overweight? Inexcusable..

KungFuLowKick Says, in 1-13-2012 at 19:10:12 from

Or get one haha.
He probably has no nutritionist to be that bad at making weight.

inkedidiot Says, in 1-13-2012 at 19:15:42 from

In this situation Vitor won’t get a solid W and neither will Johnson. Win or lose this is a bust for the fans. Couch potato, keyboard warrior, roofer, machinist, doctor, we all rise to the occasion when it’s our job. I have little or no respect for those who fail to toe the line.

Yoplait Says, in 1-13-2012 at 19:17:23 from

I have an unrelated question. How is the drug testing regulated for cards in Brazil? The locals looked pretty jacked for the last show…just curious more than I really care.

Robert Says, in 1-13-2012 at 19:23:38 from

That’s absolutely shouldn’t be unacceptable. Should’ve pulled the fight based on the lack of professionalism alone.

Robert Says, in 1-13-2012 at 19:27:22 from

@the jizzle

There’s no excuse. You sign the contract you make the weight. You should try to get rid of that excuse making part of yourself. It’ll get you nowhere.

marvelous mad madam mim Says, in 1-13-2012 at 19:42:59 from

well i was rooting for rumble but not anymore, i hope vitor crushes this fool. also rumble did this on purpose because he is scared and wanted a way out, there is no other explanation for this

IKnives Says, in 1-13-2012 at 20:32:44 from

His trainers should be ashamed too. How could they not know? If it was because Anthony didn’t listen to them, they should drop his ass.

zmayo Says, in 1-13-2012 at 20:35:14 from

Watch him not even make 205lb. Thats such bs for belfort. I would want to smash him so much more because of this.

Yoda123 Says, in 1-13-2012 at 20:40:31 from

WTF Rumble been eating his f****** huge.

RedSands Says, in 1-13-2012 at 20:41:59 from

I don’t mean to play devils advocate, but from what I’ve read he got sick before the weigh in and the doctor made him drink a ton of water… 12 lbs is about gallon and a half, nothing really that unreasonable for a dude cutting weight. He’s also in Brazil and sometimes the food there can do funny things to people that aren’t used to it. Let me tell you though, I don’t like Rumble. I think he’s kind of a shithead, and I hope Vitor destroys him.

nocomeoahu Says, in 1-13-2012 at 21:01:34 from

Rumble not makin weight says only one thing to me he is scared.he wanted to be in the best shape he could be to fight vitor.instead of talkin s*** the past two weeks he should’ve been cutting weight.

syn3rgy Says, in 1-13-2012 at 21:20:59 from

That guy looks like he ate Anthony Johnson … oh wait that is him… fat f#cker … lay off the burgers you greasy biatch!!!

MangyMongoose Says, in 1-13-2012 at 21:59:34 from

USMCKiller Says, in 1-13-2012 at 23:51:06 from

Wait…. Vitor is letting him fight at 205? 20 lbs heavier than the weight he had to make to fight? Is this for real? How is this jerkoff still in the UFC? I want to see Koscheck choke this tool out again. BTW, all the excuses about getting sick and drinking water are BS. Come in 5-6 lbs over weight but 12 lbs just tells me he is scared and doesn’t want to fight.

mmafan400 Says, in 1-14-2012 at 00:57:27 from

Dana better send a clear message to johnson. Only getting fined 20 percent is lenient.

millcat Says, in 1-14-2012 at 01:55:32 from

If the ufc didnt need to have this fight to still sell pay per views it would have been cancelled…and the fact that vitor wants to fight in rio so bad he has to pass better judgment in sake of his heart and prolly would never live it down if he didnt fight in rio let alone if he retired without fighting in brazil again…it just shows the true heart and warrior mentality of vitor to still want to take the fight…fock aj and his excuses..he just another example of a guy who does not have the skill to compete at his natural weight and thus has to cut so much to be so much bigger just to give him that mental advantage…they should just do what most states do with ammy’s and make them all weigh-in the day of the fight.

ramrod Says, in 1-14-2012 at 02:39:50 from

i think this was his way of telling Dana white f you cause .. come on he was on a tear in the 170 division lets be honest that loss to Koscheck was a fluke he didint even poke him in the eye….. i bet he made him move up in weight and then when dana white makes his dumb 24/7 videos as if they wanted to do the fight in the first place ..

jballer Says, in 1-14-2012 at 03:16:00 from

I gotta say: i really hope belfort can pull this one out. i think johnson could pose some serious problems in this fight (the size only amplifies the issue of wrestling; belfort can be shut down by high quality wrestling [couture, ortiz...])

slack Says, in 1-14-2012 at 05:02:30 from

cobra clutch Says, in 1-14-2012 at 05:10:53 from

This is the 3rd time now that dude has been overweight. Dana is in a tough spot because Rumble is talented and generally goes in to finish guys. But at the same time, Dana does not tolerate dudes coming in to the weigh-ins over, like they didn’t prepare to put on a show. Should still be a good fight. Maybe Rumble drove the porcelain bus after eating something in Brazil and then overhydrated to compensate?

BlackRazor Says, in 1-14-2012 at 05:31:31 from

You guys sound like women, so he’s over weight, this stuff happens that’s why they have weigh ins! Rumble apparently isn’t taking this fight seriously, or he just wasn’t motivated, maybe he’s just about done with the fighting in his mind, whatever the case everyone is entitled to a screw up here and there, hell Vitor during his dominate UFC day was on steriods, nobody is perfect especially Rumble Johnson, Vitor will win and get another shot at getting knocked out! Aldo and Mendes is the fiht anyway, an over the hill fighter like Vitor against a young gun like Rumble this fight was only made as stepping stone for Rumble, however it may be Rumble that gets stepped on, big deal who cares about the out come of this fight! Rumble isn’t ready for the middleweight division and Vitor is past his prime!

The dancing bear Says, in 1-14-2012 at 07:54:34 from

The fine should be more than 204%

smiley Says, in 1-14-2012 at 08:51:09 from

Imagine what would have happened if that had been one of the Diaz brothers missing by that much. I think this is a mistake for Belfort. Johnson may have a huge energy and strength advantage as a result and why on Earth did Dana not even look surprised. No one was surprised. This was planned. WTF?!?

smiley Says, in 1-14-2012 at 08:52:34 from

An eleven pound difference is NOT an honest mistake or just the kind of screw up that happens. Eleven pounds is either planned or he just did not give a s***.

Tsagoii Says, in 1-14-2012 at 13:12:48 from

I agree with Slack, it is quite hilarious to read about all those “Fat” joke and comments.

I’ve seen the weight in, AJ is not fat at all. Actually the man is ripped.

The fact is more that he should be fighting at Light heavyweight.

The fact is most fighters want’s to bash their opponents, but none of them wish to get their rear end handed to them, brutally.

Do to others, what you don’t want being done to you.

Easy fix, drop weight and go fight a lighter category. Some succeed, some failed.

The game is simple, make the weight in the class you’re in.

If you let them fight this way, you might as well do it no weight class, or less >title< class. remove the "middle".
