Arlovski is probably the least entertaining heavyweight there is. His last several fights have sucked! He has been crap to watch ever since he got knocked out by sylvia. No wonder his fights dont even make the PPV showing.

i used to be a really big fan of arlovsky’s but he’s really not that exciting to watch. he can do way better then he does if he isn’t so cautious. imho

Thanks for posting this fight! I wanted to see it last night. I paid for this UFC pay-per-view and was so ticked off that they didn’t even broadcast this fight! What’s the deal with Dana hating Arlovski? He lost his recent rematch to Sylvia via decision (and it was a close fight) and then beat Werdum (albeit via decision). How does this warrant Arlovski being in the off-card fights, and worse yet not even broadcasted?

this fight was a snorefest for all except the last 30 sec or so, but seriously, maybe arlovski is not as exciting as he used to be because hes now a smarter and more methodical fighter? i dunno but say what you want, call him boring or whatever, but he has 3 straight wins and hasnt lost to anyone not named sylvia since 2002… re-sign him and give him a title shot…just dont expect through the roof ppv sales with an arlovski v. nogueira headliner…

That wasn’t bias — he was absolutely right. Arlovski had many opportunities for a guillotine that he didn’t attempt.

Bias or not i think he had a point.If that were Nogueria fighting Jake that fight wouldnt have gone past the first round. Guillotine or anaconda in a heartbeat had it been Nogueria. I am still glad the pitbull won though.

I agreed about the guillotine choke comment, and I also thought Arlovski should have punished him a bit more for the takedown attempts, but that was biased commentary. I also couldn’t believe that this fight was on the undercard!

I loved the comment about Arlovski being clever to get the stoppage…it’s like saying the other fighters are clever for tapping out when they are about to be put to sleep…

Realistically, they were probably given the task of downplaying a bit here. The commentary was actually pretty good that night.

The UFC doesn’t look like they’re resigning him, so it really shouldn’t be surprising that they’re not trying to build him up any.

The only people who think he wasn’t completely biased is a hardcore joe rogan fan, sure some stuff he was saying is true but the tone of his voice and the amount of times he repeated stuff was just retarded. Its like what is his job, to do commentary or to bash a certain fighter.

As for Mike Goldberg I didn’t see him being biased, if anything he was trying to defend arlovski after joe wouldn’t stop bashing. Mike is never biased cause hes a nice guy and actualy thinks before he talks although he doesn’t know too much about the sport but he is learning, I would still rather listen to him over Joe ANYDAY!

Once joe rogan starts hardcore bashing one of the fighters they always win, thats when I start laughing my ass off!

Arlovski said he didn’t want to hurt Jake, after hearing of Jakes neck surgery issues. He just chose not to guillotine him, he took it easy on him. They shouldn’t have been fighting in the first place. Jake O’brien was really exposed with this one.

The UFC charged $45 for the PPV event and then didn’t even show 4 of the fights. 4! WTF?!? I am banning UFC. They originally did wonders for the sport and are now ruining it bit by bit.

ok everyone should lay off rogan…first off, you all should research his background or talk to someone who has trained with him before making any remarks like “even his fat tattooed burnt out comedian ass could do that”….Joe rogan has been training martial arts since 14…he has a black belt in tae kwon do(which he admits is mostly worthless) has done years of muay thai, and has a bjj brown belt under eddie bravo…his bjj comentary is about as acurate as anyone could do…you try to commentate a fight move by move and lets see how accurate you are! His muay thai knowledge is sound… i.e.- he uses terms like teep or plum while most announcers say front or straight kick instead of teep and call the plum “the muay thai clinch” Go read the blackbelt magazine edition article about Rogan which has him on the cover and then tell me he cant fight or has shitty knowledge…or watch his youtube videos tapping people at Legends gym and then lets see if you feel the same…oh and Joe in person is short (5′8″ or 5′9″) but he sure as hell isnt fat… AND BY THE WAY IF YOU ARE A TRUE FAN OF MMA you will always sound a lil bias when talking about a fighter whether you love or hate him

Joe holds a certain entertainment value, people tune in for great fights and a secondary benifit is hearing joe spew such jems as “alpha male freak” or this guy has “mad skills”. Thats what color commentators are there for to provide their opinion and add color, open discussions. Joe did his job.I must say he did ramble on and on about the G-choke to the point of distraction.

This was not a spectacular fight, it was a good fight. The stoppage was justified, AA could have showed a bit more Killer instinct when in full mount at the end, but face it if a guy is not appropriatly defending himself against open hand bitch slaps, a fight should be stopped. Give AA some credit he coulda hurt Hendo bad but chose not to, as evidenced by the look to the ref to stop it. At least it was announced as win by tko and not winner bny open hand bitch slaps, which is what that was.

Fedor would make Arlovski look like a punk bitch. Rogan mentioned during this fight, that this was the first time he’d seen Arlovski on his back since the Silvia fight. Must have forgotten about the amazing punch he gave Petabono from his back not too long ago. I was impressed he was able to generate that kind of power from such an akward angle.

he talks so much crap about arlovski the only reason the fight wasn’t as good wasn’t because of arlovski it was because of O’brien he just layed on top of him and was too much of a pussy to stand with him. Arlovski will be on top again he just needs to be more aggressive

Plus I really don’t think he wanted to finish the fight with a submission, specially one that was as easy as the guillotine that kept appearing.

I understand why Rogan was confused about the guillotine but I also understand why Arlovski didn’t want to go for it. He obviously was doing whatever possible to stay off of his back even though he was hurting O’Brian a lot more than O’Brian was hurting him when he was on his back.

I’m a big Arlovski fan and I understand his new tactics. Still, he needs to put more weight behind his punches because he’s supposed to be a stand-up guy. When doing stand-up you need to work for the knockout and throwing weak punches while only worrying about getting taken down is not going to give you a win, although he did pull out a really smart mount and a TKO (even though he still threw weak punches when he was in a position of supreme advantage).

All in all, Arlovski needs to put as much power in his punches as everyone knows he’s capable of.

Why is everyone talking trash about Arlovski? He is a great fighter. This guy KOs 300 pound guys and he is not really that big for a heavyweight. Give the man a break, he can still bring the pain.
