good for brett rogers. hes made a name for himself and now has a legit career that he can live off of and focus on full time.
it sucks for andrei though, wheres he go from here? he cant box for shit and cant seem to take a punch very well. i like him but its really disappointing to see him continue to lose in such a horrible fashion.
people are gonna call early stoppage on this one too. aa was out on his feet. he goes limp, drops his hands to his sides then falls over. gotta give these refs credit for being so quick to react in real time what most of us need a replay to notice. aa doesnt even fight the stoppage either, he knows he was out. sad to see him lose though.

Everyone always throws out ‘oh he should retire, he’s passed his prime blah blah’ …. well in all honesty Arlovski is someone who should think about hanging them up. He’s still a pretty young man and really has all the tools to be a great fighter but he has proved on many occasions that he just can’t take a punch. It is really unfortunate for him but when you get repeatedly knocked out it is definitely your bodies way of telling you to stop getting hit in the face.

Personally I think AA is an arrogant sob and I think AA was believing all the press that he somehow did something amazing by getting ko’d by Fedor. I truly believe he was thinking no one can stand in there with him and oops out he goes.

Pooor defense on A.A.’s part. I’m not impressed by Rogers in the least…yet. He looks to be the new Rashad Evans of the HW division. If he comes up against the likes of a Fedor (and unfortunately I can’t think of too many other great hw names…becuz Fedor’s so above any of them..) or any real competition, he will get owned. But alas, the HW division has always seemed to be rather sparse on competition.

I knew this would happen. Arlovski comes out scared in his first fight after a loss, and for someone with a wet-paper chin that is very dangerous.

Lol Arlovski has always had a suspect chin and he doesnt tuck it for some reason. He has good skills but the man cant take a punch plain and simple. The UFC built his rep up but he never beat anyone substantial in my opinion.

I saw this coming very clearly. I believed Rogers is underated, the guy hits really hard and is very tough, coming from a very poor enviroment. By other side was a big management mistake to face Arlovsky – that has a glass chin and just suffered a very bad nockout – against a heavy hitter like Rogers. At least it would be better for Arlovsky to try a takedown inmediately, but he wanted to box with Rogers; what a bad decition, almost like the flying knee.

I really think refs should be given whistles… sometimes they can’t get in the middle of the fighters fast enough.
This is not boxing… refs in MMA stand farther away from fighters than in boxing, so whistles would be a huge tools to get the action stopped in time before someone gets really hurt.
I thought of that last night as I watch strikeforce.

Overeen will beat Rogers, due to the fact the overeem is a kickboxer not a pylon boxer like Arlovski.
I have never been a fan of Orlovski, when he became UFC champ, I was wondering who he had to beat to be champ, since there was no such thing as HW competition in the UFC back them, as soon as the UFC got some HW fighters, Arlovski never saw the belt again.
I hate saying such fighter is overrated, but I really think AA was babied in his UFC hay days.
There have been many fighters that were babied by the UFC, Liddell, Couture, AA, Hughes.
As soon as the UFC brought guys from other orgs. all these ex babies couldn’t win a fight. Liddell danced around for 2 rounds against Wandi, just to get a win, and justify his $500,000 payday. but look what happened when he couldn’t dance around Rashad and Rua… or Jardine in that matter.
Lesnar at the moment is being babied, if the UFC really wanted to make him earn his props, they would have put him up againt, Carwin, Gonzaga, Kongo… someone other than Couture, they knew Lesnar would easily over power couture, since couture has no technique or skills to beat a big guy like Lesnar.
To me Couture will be the biggest joke in the UFC a legend with a record of 16-9.. what a joke, and to think he actually thought he could beat Fedor, not even in his prime could Couture beat Fedor.
UFC is a joke, and until they implement a ranking system, I will take any success a fighter has in that org. with skepticism.

Who else is in the heavyweight division who has beaten as many people as Fedor? But strikeforce organization should do something with the terrible commentary and cameras. You don’t even see what happened in this fight until replay. Why isn’t Aleksander Emelianenko fighting in the US? People talk about fast hands, they have to see Aleksander fight. If Fedor wasn’t godlike, Aleksander would be in the top 10 HW.
I think Aleksander is the reason why Fedor is the way he is, and as good as he is. Think about it, when you have a 6′6″ punching bag that has more talent than most HW fighters out there, would you be scared of anyone in a ring or cage? I don’t think so

Wow! I think brett rogers is for real. he has the eye of the tiger right now, so other heavyweights are gonna have to really take him seriously. Also, I think fighter’s need to train more to circle away from a strait forward attack rather than back strait up,- thats what got AA in trouble. Most fighters probably do, but it must just be hard to do it in an actual fight when things happen in a split second. Arlovski hasn’t looked good since his first KO by Tim Silvia. I think it was the beginning of the downward spiral. I remember when this guy was thought to be the next big thing in MMA. I had high hopes for him, but right now he might as well sign a match and finally win against the aging Ken Shamrock.

I love all the glass chin comments. I’d love to see how any of those people would fare getting hit right on the chin by some of the punches I’ve seen arlovski take. That shot he took from Pedro Rizzo not only knocked him out but busted his eye wide open with that one shot. Wow, Arlovski looked horrible, flat. None of the movement that was there in the Fedor fight happened. You’d think with Fedor looking on, Arlovski would have really been able to make a statement and shown some improvement. Not so! How embarrising, no, devastating –I wonder if he can recover from that? Many elite fighters could beat Rogers, with the proper gameplane to neutralize his strengths. Question is wjy Arlovski didn’t prepare to do that? Did he honestly think it wise to go toe to toe with that big guy?
