Obviously if one of the fighters is a ground fighter and the other is stand up then the ground fighter can sleep on top of the stand up fighter for 20 minutes. He didn’t even come close to hurting silva while on top, snooze fest

lmfao triggz, fans don’t come to the show to watch the fighters have sex, this is why any good organization stands them up if there is no action on the ground, and thats why you hear every single fan chear when this happens. This causes the fighter to actualy do something when they are on top instead of knowing they wont get stand up and just use all their energy to make sure the opponent can’t get up for the rest of the round.

Don’t say I don’t understand the ground game cause I fight and its my specialty, you can obviously see that Silva had such better stand up and all Luiz wanted to do was avoide getting hit then take him down and smother him and pray to god he doesn’t get back up.

Not that I like Silva , I would love to see him get whooped in the ufc but its yet to happen. Hes one of those guys that will only lose to a really good ground and pounder.

Silva is a stand up fighter? I thought he was BJJ boy before Muay Thai.. and lay ontop of the fighter? if the dood is good at ground work then he wants to be on top of him where he can flip and arm bar.. when they lay like that and it LOOKS like there doin nothin.. its becuz there a good match up.. granted it was a boring fight.. Anderson Silva is just as good on the ground as is he is at stand up..

You know….something tells me Henderson hardly did his homework. If he would have watched this fight and the Lutter fight, he should and could have had him. I am still convinced that Silva will lose his belt with a full mount pound similar to what Lutter almost pulled off.

Ya I get that he pulled off a triangle choke on Lutter and won, beated a ground guy at his own game, but I hardly look at Lutter as a top 10 contender like I would say Henderson.

One of the things I love about Anderson “spider monkey??” Silva is that in all of the fights I have ever seen of him, he rarely if ever takes punishment…he clearly got the better in this fight, even though he lost, he did more damage standing and on the ground…I’ve never even seen him dazed in mma fighting..best p4p fighter at the moment without a doubt…

The whole world wants to see gsp vs silva, they need to make this damn fight happen to prove who the true best pound for pound fighter is, cause in my books gsp is but just about everybody else thinks silva is. Maybe if its possible they should make it a 177lb fight to settle the difference between the two weight classes because gsp at 185 might not be at his best, same for silva at 170lbs

And yes, he is a prick. He refused to touch gloves with the guy at the start of the fight, and proceeded to showboat and do monkey-dance taunting in the ring, dropping his gloves, etc. Great fighter? Without a doubt. Class act? Not even close. Humble? I do not think you know what that word means. He has beat some fighters I really like, but that has nothing to do with my perception of him. You’re the one with the man-crush bias. I enjoy watching him fight too, but call me old fashioned, I just like fighters that can dominate and show a little respect at the same time.

I always wanted to see Silva’s MMA debut to see why he lost. Azeredo did nothing but Lay ‘n’ Pray. Silva has really come a long way with his punching and ground work since this fight. He was a bit disrespectful. Kissing during the staredown and refusing to touch gloves. I have no problem with taunts it’s part of the mental game. I don’t think Silva is a prick, he’s a class act. He likes to showboat and celebrate but that’s just having fun. He’s always quick to greet his opponent after the fight, shake hands at the staredown and usually touches gloves.
