Boxing video of Anderson Silva (0-1) Vs. Julio Cesar De Jesus (0-0) 2005. This was Silva’s second pro boxing bout. The first bout he lost to Osmar Luiz Teixeira by second round TKO.

Interesting, sure. But if this is supposed to tell us anything about Silva’s chances against Roy, it would be best to note that this fight, which took place in 2005, was De Jesus’ first and last pro boxing match. In short, he’s not a pro boxer. He’s a guy who wanted to be a pro boxer. We could probably learn more from seeing his loss to Teixeira, who was a legit boxer with heavy hands and a 10 and 2 record with 7 knockouts when he met Silva (currently 31 and 21 with 24 knockouts)… except that the Teixeira fight happened in 1998. Either way, in a straight boxing match, Roy is out of Silva’s league.

Very good idea to post this video, i had watched it not too long ago, and i was wondering why you had never posted it, but there you go now !
Silva impressed me with his confidence and great boxing foot work but you can easily tell that he s just not experienced enough to compete against pro boxers.

lol i love how people call them haters and and blame it on his skin color. well im a silva fan. but im more of a fan of the sport.

this was a fixed fight if ive ever seen one. its like the guy got paid to duck n cover the whole time. he hardly threw at all… from his foot work and movements, tho i dont know the fighter, i can tell he can throw a lot better than he showed. and he was scared or even worked. FIXED IMO.

Roy Jones would destroy silvia in a boxing bout very easily. he is a southpaw and when he throws his power punch he kinda jumps in, allowing himself to walk right into a powerfull right hand. i think roy jones jr would do good against him in MMA as well, but ehy in the hell would he cross to over to mma to get chump change when boxing pays him millions to fight?

This match did happen last week, so it’s a clear indication of Silva’s current boxing skills.

2005 people. 4 fucking years ago. Shit, Silva lost to Ryo in Pride back in 04 by flying leg lock (mind you that was post 8 month layoff). Could Ryo beat Silva now? Fuck no.

Fighters work on their skills all the time to improve.
