I’m legitimately scared right now. Anderson Silva means what he says…I read about all this, but nothing compares to hearing it out of his own mouth.
@failsonnen: If he said it before a fight in Brazil, I think Sonnen would refuse to go there. I do think Anderson is more offended by the fact Sonnen is a convicted criminal and known cheater and is still allowed to fight. The whole disrespect against Brazil and his wife is just extra fuel.
Of course, I think if he hurts Sonnen even a little, Sonnen will tap or the ref. will stop the fight.
Based on Silva’s past, I hope he comes more like he did against Belfort than what he did against Maia. I think the worst thing he can do to Sonnen is to knock him out in less than a minute and cut off his screen time.

Hmmmnn.. if he’s really fighting angry that might not be a good thing. Maybe he’s responding to the critics who say he doesn’t hype the fights up enough. Still, this gives me chills.. the dream scenario would be a Silva TKO with Sonnen taking unnecessary shots like Joe Warren took against Pat Curran.
He should be upset, Chael has done an excellent job of getting in Anderson’s head. But words don’t hurt your opponent in the octagon, and unfortunately for Anderson he will have to get in there and prove those boastful words… in which he won’t. Chael is too much of a beast, Chael by submission.

An angry AS is a DANGEROUS AS! Chael awoke a sleeping giant inside of Anderson. You’ve seen AS beat people with not half the intensity and focus he has for this fight. If you think this will make him more vulnerable then you need to look at Silva’s past fights again. Toying with whoever is put in front of him. He beat Sonnen with a cracked rib and he may have injured his knee this time but he is still a dangerous fighter. Sonnen will need a miracle to win this one.

Yes, Chael just runs his mouth to hype fights, he doesnt’ even believe half the s*** he says, but as a wise man once said,”Every man is responsible for the words of his voice.” Chael lost the first fight. AS told Big Nog before the fight that he would finish Sonnen by submission, and he did it with an injured rib. Now you have a pissed off Anderson Silva ready to tear this A-hole’s head off. Look at Silva’s highlight reel, Chael is going to get his ass beat.

You can tell this is personal for Silva now. I know he wants to keep that good/composed fighter image but when someone insults you every minute and takes shots at your family and nation that’s just too f****** much. Chael is a criminal and a cheat, a highly intelligent and entertaining one, but none the less that is what he is. I hope Chael is tested well before and after the fight… I’m pretty sure he’ll pass the accepted 6:1 ratio allowed again.
I hope for an epic fight, back and fourth with Silva knocking him out in the 5th round.

Could Sonnen have Andy where he wants him? andy is usually cool, calm, collected. Chael really has nothing to lose, he just gets called nuts if he loses. Andy has everything to lose.
I honestly think AS means what he says…interesting hear the tone in his voice…just the volume level…he’s angry.

Anger DOESN’T make you a better fighter as a general rule (and my hopes for MMA fans were dashed a LONG time ago). It’s Anderson’s intensity that I, and I’m sure others, are responding to. The tone in his voice shows his intent…I doubt he will go in the ring “angry”, but I have to doubt he’ll hold back. There a difference in fighting to win, fighting to defeat your opponent and trying to actually hurt someone…I think he REALLY wants to hurt Chael…

I disagree.The last time AS was really angry,it was vs Maia and it was a poor performance where he gassed.Any angry fighter is a alot less good then if he was calm.
I love Chael and he’s pretty good but AS is a great, great fighter. People try to pick him apart because his fight with Chael or his fight with Maia where he gassed a bit but he didn’t lose. Even when the guy is having he still wins and most time in beautifully dramatic fashion. AS is a legend and he’s not going to lose that night.
