If you watch close, other than the first guy hitting him in the clinch, Anderson is rolling with all of those punches. None of them really connect directly. He doesn’t have an iron chin, he just rolls with them all to deflect most of the power. That is WAY more amazing than an iron chin

Even though I am not a fan Diego Sanchez is in the top 5 chins in MMA .. As For Sonnen .. if you watch closely in the Bisbing fight, AGAIN Sonnen sets himself up for the Triangle.. I was screaming for Bisbing to apply it.. I wouldn’t be shocked if he gets caught again vs Anderson.

@failsonner- diaz is great but as far as a chin he gets dropped in lots of fights, hes just a warrior and wont ever quit, but physically, his chin is not like BJ, anderson, mark hunt or other guys.

@TheJrlocc, Yes Anderson Silva does have losses to his stats. Actually, if I recall when he used to fight in PRIDE organization, he loss twice, one in a spectacular way, against Ryo Chonen, who was on his way to loose the fight when he trew a flighing scissor / Heel hook, Silva tapped and loss the fight.

Again in PRIDE organization, He loss to Daiju Takase, got himself caught in a beautiful and quick triangle choke, no way out. Tapped and loss.

@newmmfan1, I agree on the “Rolling with punches” theory, that it is effective to avoid knock out our reduce the impact of the punches.

But I do not agree with your statement that Anderson Silva does not have a chin.

I’m sorry, an L/R punch right on the chin from Dan Henderson, and it made it look like nothing happened. Getting glinched and receiving power punches like it was nothing tells you 2 things.

This fighting can take pain, and stay focus, dangerous and on target. And he sure can take hard punches.

that being mention, it does that remove the fact that, any man can drop knees on 1 single punch. Sonnen proved it and others too.

But don’t count on that to knock him out! The word is “Knock” “Phase”, dropping knees is one normal reation to the body. Stunning you opponent long enough to open the can of ass wooping…. priceless.
