Of course, they’re awkward, arigatou. You can’t have a commercial where Silva talks – his girly voice would spoil the whole image. Segal here looked constipated. And whoever did their storyboarding was an idiot with no imagination. Hmm… let’s take every movie cliche we can think of from martial arts and try to jam it into one short promo – whether it makes sense or not. The one that they DID get right is the one from “Kill Bill”. They should have had Anderson speak during that part – the voice would have worked then.
