Log in to Reply haha March 15, 2009 too bad he doesn’t fight like that in the UFC. one of the few fights he doesnt employ soccer kicks or stomps to the head. He just needs to be alot more athletic, get back to his natural quickness and ferocity some how Log in to Reply lightsout9999 March 15, 2009 shogun was still young when this happened, right now he’s like an overused machine that’s gonna snap any time soon Log in to Reply Aongie! March 15, 2009 Nice job by shogun!! Still goin for chuck though… Log in to Reply rza808 March 15, 2009 Overeem had this fight but gassed. Shogun isnt as strong and explosive as he was before. These fighters moved in opposite directions after this fight. Log in to Reply Smacket March 15, 2009 Injuries are Mauricio’s only problems. His bad cardio is a direct result of not being able to train properly. IMO he was lucky not to reinjure his knee & he knew that, look at his performance, it was lack luster to say the least. I have a feeling his Cardio will be much better this time around. Cardio is not something easily fixed in between fights. Cardio takes a good year to possess at such large level as fighting non-stop for 3-5 rounds. Log in to Reply sins4given March 15, 2009 Or maybe like other fighters he was juicing and just was never that explosive without the stuff…MAybe!!! Log in to Reply viking March 15, 2009 I hope Shogun obliterates Chuck. Log in to Reply JEF March 15, 2009 Thanks for the post I’m an overeem fan. Wish shogun was still like this I missed his glory days. If he doesn’t show up as good as he is in the video for ufc 97 I’m routing for chuck. Log in to Reply Niv March 15, 2009 That was vintage Shogun pre-knee surgery. I have no doubt in my mind that the cardio machine wrecking ball will return to form, I just hope it comes now as I’d hate to see another bad performance from this guy. Shogun is naturally the most gifted fighter in his class and I expect him to back that up soon. Log in to Reply KJC March 15, 2009 If Shogun gasses like he did in the fight with Coleman..Chuck WILL win. Liddell might not be an elite fighter anymore but he’s lost to 3 guys in the Top 10 in his weight class … Shogun couldn’t do shit against Marc Coleman … like Mark Coleman are u serious ? Log in to Reply Corey March 16, 2009 The overall ground game of ufc fighters in general is much more versatile and impressive of that compared to Pride. Not badmouthing pride, or pride fighers, but if you had a really solid BJJ in Pride… you’re chances of winning were increased dramatically, you have to have that in UFC, or you’re going to lose. It’s a different ballpark. I don’t see alistar fatigued at all, I seen him pass up opporunities to take dominate ground position because he doesn’t have a fully developed arsenal, and I seen shogun slowly overwhelm a 1 dimensional fighter. Nothing here impressed me except for Alistar continually letting shogun stand up without even swinging at him. Log in to Reply gunnyhighway99 March 16, 2009 Nice fight Bruno, thanks!! Now I know how Fedor is going to beat Overeem. Log in to Reply paddedummy March 16, 2009 Overeem is doing much better now that he constantly knees his opponents in the balls Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
