I agree, I’ve always said that speed is a huge factor in winning a fight and JDS might not be as powerful or as good of a kick boxer as overroid is but he is a much faster striker.

either way it should be an exciting fight.

I’d think though, about who not only has more experience fighting diverse styles and succeeding against them. Something as small as range: since JDS’ boxing is great, he likes fighting in that range. But Overeem fights and kicking range, clinching and boxing range. I haven’t seen much from JDS’ clinch these days but Overeem’s known for that knee for a reason.

we saw it against Carwin — speed beats power. We will see it again against Overeem. Who is the faster striker? JDS. What is Overeem’s defensive style? Shelling. Does that work with MMA gloves? No.

Dos Santos gets Overeem wobbly late in the first and finishes in a somewhat shocking first round TKO.

The way I look at it is this:

If Brock Lesnar, a guy who usually is expected to just rush you like a bull, was able to stand there and strike and cut open Overeem’s face, then Dos Santos has a VERY good chance at knocking him out with ease. EASE. He just has to be the first aggressor and CONNECT. I DONT see Overeem having as much heart or chin as Roy Nelson. Regardless of his weight gain, he still got destroyed by Shogun back in the day and Badr Hari got revenge on him in K-1

I’d have to say the reems ground game’s better than jds’s. and juniors only loss was by sub. Not to say reem should shoot in. but I think the reems better all around. If this goes into the later rounds I’d like to think JDS has a better chance of winning you saw him agains carwin and the reem he’ll be gassed look what he does in the latter rounds. War JDS.. Much respect to the reem.
