War Santos Log in to Reply captainobvious March 29, 2012 3000g of protein? that seems a bit excessive… as in kidney failure excessive Log in to Reply neovvl March 29, 2012 cmon man, this guy rides his dinner to the table! Log in to Reply southiejimmy March 29, 2012 @wow, jds could also end up the same way, only difference is overeem can do it to jds with punches, kicks, and knees. Same cant be said for jds. I dont know about you, but i would rather hire a carpenter who knows how to use a hammer, a saw, and a drill rather than just one of the three. Log in to Reply wow March 29, 2012 @ southiejimmy you make a very good point, and I am a huge fan of the Reem as well and appreciate his diverse skill set and experience. I just saw something in JDS’s Eyes in his first fight, hes a Lion and I feel he will keep the distance between himself and the Reem very well. JDS clearly has the best boxing in the division. It’s a no brainer that JDS is better on the ground too. Clearly it will be a great fight, or a quick fight. Log in to Reply MadaKill March 29, 2012 What was with the dude to Overeem’s left? He just walked up to him and got uncomfortably close and then just stood there. Alistair looked over at him like “Can I help you?” I can’t wait for this fight! War Overeem! Log in to Reply *****lipsbjj March 29, 2012 the 3000g of protein was obviously a joke… Log in to Reply TopDawg March 29, 2012 I am very curious now what his protein intake truly is. He had a very big smirk when he said 3k, and that does seem insanely excessive. I’d wager around 400-500g of protein a day. The suggested intake is 1gram per 1LB. he can take a bit more due to his rigorous training. Log in to Reply JoeDog March 29, 2012 JDS could win if he can keep some distance and pick away until he lands a bomb. It’s been said over and over that anything can happen in MMA especially with the heavyweights, but if logic plays any role in predicting, Overeem’s chances of winning are very good. Again, anything can happen. Log in to Reply Mr. Obvious March 29, 2012 It’s obvious that JDS will put up a much better fight than that woman did. She was a wimp. Too bad it didn’t end up being Rousey…..she’d of put him on his back. Log in to Reply BK March 29, 2012 pretty stupid to assume that JDS is superior on the ground because he trains with Big Nog! We’ve never seen him do it. We do know that Reem is a Euro ADCC level grappler. And Sorry keeping the distance with a kickboxer is pretty stupid as well. It gives Reem more options to pick JDS apart with his kickboxing. JDS will have to get inside. It’s anyone’s ball game. War OVEREEM!!!!!! Respect to JDS Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick March 29, 2012 @wow I don’t know where you saw JDS grapple but I never saw him grappling in the UFC except vs Carwin with that beautiful takedown in the 3rd.JDS is a brown belt in BJJ,but we never really saw him grapple in the UFC.Overeem on the other hand has almost 50/50 submission and Ko wins.He won the euro trials for ADCC and he submitted legit black belts.I don’t know who is better because like I said we never really saw JDS grapple but from the actual grappling in MMA matches, you can’t say JDS is better on the ground. Log in to Reply uncledana March 29, 2012 dos santos has no boxing skills on overreem. look at how he ran through the field at k-1. Log in to Reply amosaback March 29, 2012 @wow, How can you say that JDS “clearly” has a better ground game that Overeem? Overeem was the European Abu Dabi champion, and he has many wins by submission. I believe that JDS probably has a good gound game. I say “believe” because nobody has ever seen it. That being said, his TD defense is nice. Log in to Reply HaVoK March 29, 2012 @MadaKill That was his manager/PR director. Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim March 29, 2012 @neovvl u witty mofo u lololololol Log in to Reply MMAGiantSilva March 29, 2012 Yeah JDS clearly has the better ground game because we have seen him use it every fight he is sick on the ground. Not! I do know Overeem is no joke on the ground and thats the real deal Wow your an idiot. Log in to Reply juniordoslightsout March 29, 2012 I’d have to say the reems ground game’s better than jds’s. and juniors only loss was by sub. Not to say reem should shoot in. but I think the reems better all around. If this goes into the later rounds I’d like to think JDS has a better chance of winning you saw him agains carwin and the reem he’ll be gassed look what he does in the latter rounds. War JDS.. Much respect to the reem. Log in to Reply failsonnen March 29, 2012 The way I look at it is this: If Brock Lesnar, a guy who usually is expected to just rush you like a bull, was able to stand there and strike and cut open Overeem’s face, then Dos Santos has a VERY good chance at knocking him out with ease. EASE. He just has to be the first aggressor and CONNECT. I DONT see Overeem having as much heart or chin as Roy Nelson. Regardless of his weight gain, he still got destroyed by Shogun back in the day and Badr Hari got revenge on him in K-1 Log in to Reply tobes March 29, 2012 we saw it against Carwin — speed beats power. We will see it again against Overeem. Who is the faster striker? JDS. What is Overeem’s defensive style? Shelling. Does that work with MMA gloves? No. Dos Santos gets Overeem wobbly late in the first and finishes in a somewhat shocking first round TKO. Log in to Reply JayDeeHero March 30, 2012 @KungFuLowKick And he won all of those with a guillotine. Log in to Reply JayDeeHero March 30, 2012 I’d think though, about who not only has more experience fighting diverse styles and succeeding against them. Something as small as range: since JDS’ boxing is great, he likes fighting in that range. But Overeem fights and kicking range, clinching and boxing range. I haven’t seen much from JDS’ clinch these days but Overeem’s known for that knee for a reason. Log in to Reply dave March 30, 2012 @tobes I agree, I’ve always said that speed is a huge factor in winning a fight and JDS might not be as powerful or as good of a kick boxer as overroid is but he is a much faster striker. either way it should be an exciting fight. Log in to Reply Rio_Warrior March 30, 2012 Slow ass Overeem wont even find JDS, watch for Alistair to take a beat from another brazilian just like he took on pride days.
