I mean it should be a great fight but I am a huge fan of both guys. Gus is on a 6 fight win streak and this should be a number one contender fight for him(though I doubt it will be seeing that hendo vs lyoto is in the picture and talks of DC moving down to 205 to fight jones if he beats mir). Mousasi has only lost once in his last 22 fights and he is definitely a skilled fighter. I still hope both of these guys make it to a title shot someday but one is going to have to have a setback this april. What that tells you. Log in to Reply fufc January 20, 2013 100% agree with the first post. always like gegard, recently started to follow Gus. both deserve shots Log in to Reply McClinchey January 20, 2013 gegard is most dangerous at 185, kinda feel like ufc is having him at 205 to start just so they can get the most possible fights out of him. Log in to Reply shitface January 20, 2013 Good match up. Log in to Reply ToOcH911 January 20, 2013 @ inanebignate i couldnt have said it better my self. all this fight does is take a title shot away from one of them. they should have gave mousasi shogun, bader, or phil davis for his first fight in the ufc Log in to Reply Turboobsessed January 20, 2013 He really did not loose once in his last 22 fights. He put a whooping on King Mo. He was on the bottom most of the fight, but landed way more shots and you can see who had caused more damage. Log in to Reply Turboobsessed January 20, 2013 Oh and the “Draw” with Jardine… That was another fight he should of won, but you know what happens with those judges now a days… Log in to Reply MMAgiantsilva January 20, 2013 Hahahaha he was whooping King Mo. Come on Turbo I like Mousasi also but give Mo credit where it is due he owned Mousasi that night and rightfully won. Mousasi could not stop the take down so he was on his back the entire fight. I think he may win in a rematch but no question about it Mo was better that night. Log in to Reply MMAgiantsilva January 20, 2013 And Mousasi Gus is a sick fight. Log in to Reply kuelniss January 20, 2013 @Turboobsessed, watch that fight again dude. King Mo easily, non-controvercially, won the fight. He had multiple take downs and controlled the entire fight except for one round (I think it was the second, I forget). That was the only round in which Mousasi did a lot of damage from his back which rightfully won him the round despite being outgrappled, taken down, and being put on his back the whole time. I, as with most people, and all three judges correctly gave that round to Mousasi, and the rest to Mo. Just because one guy does a bunch of damage from his back in one round does not mean you just give him the rest of the rounds in which he didn’t. Your opinion is idiotic. Log in to Reply Axe Murderer January 20, 2013 Will be a tuff fight for both guys. Log in to Reply Iron_Cobra January 20, 2013 Bad fight for Gus. I think mousasis’ striking is way better but Gus has better footwork. Gus has way more to lose than mousasi has to gain. Gegard will put Alex on his ass and win a decision. Log in to Reply Iron_Cobra January 20, 2013 Oh and Mousasi kicked king mos ass. He held him mousasi down with no damage, with no intention to finish the fight. He will not fair well in bellator. Log in to Reply Uh, awesome match up... January 21, 2013 Gustaffson just had a number one contender fight against Shogun, and he won, which makes him the number one contender, right? So making the Mousasi match up shows how the UFC ranks him coming in. Agreed that Mousasi was never in trouble and he smashed Mo, BUT he didn’t have control of the fight at all, Mo controlled the entire fight sans getting clipped… and losing an eye… Log in to Reply ruddo293 January 21, 2013 King mo needs to be on the UFC roster. I think he would do alot of damage at 205 in the UFC… Log in to Reply Dave January 21, 2013 Damn! that’s gonna be a very interesting match up! gustafsson has very good strikes but Mousasi also has precision boxing and is very skilled all around. they are both very close! Mousasi has more experience but I would give a slight edge to Gustafsson for speed. honestly that fight can go both ways its really hard to call this one. Log in to Reply Romuro January 21, 2013 Look at the kids expressions especially at 2:40… Hes obviously very nervous, mousasi’s experience wins him the bout, decision, tko or submission, i would be very shocked if Gustafsson Pulls an upset. Many knowledgable MMA fans/fighters (not band wagon fans) would agree… Log in to Reply Timzda January 21, 2013 Yeah I gotta also agree with inanebignate, it seems like there are so many other mathcups they could’ve gone with, but yeah sick matchup. 2013 is gunna be very interesting. Log in to Reply mmafan11 January 21, 2013 Mousasi should at 185 vs Silva etc 205 guys are really heavyweights look at Gustav & Jones both make and are bigger than most Heavyweights by Height & Reach easy. Log in to Reply ericsson January 21, 2013 that’s a stupid fight he should fight Mauricio Rua Log in to Reply Sammy January 21, 2013 I think this will be a very exciting fight. hard to call Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
