Leben is one of the best fighters UFC has.

The guy always puts on a show. He may not be top 5 but still gets out there and bangs for the audience.

i’m not a very big fan of Leben but yeah he beat the sh*t out of sakara, maybe sakara should go down another weight class….couldn’t cut it in the light hw devision….and sure can’t in the middleweight devision.

I can understand the stoppage but I agree with Sakara.
He was still there, his hands where up and he was even trying to grap a hand of Leben when it was stopped.
He caught some good punches, but hey, thats the Sport and should not immediately lead to a stoppage when you see a fighter who’s trying to hang on.

Also I believe Sakara would have destroyed Leben if he’d made it up again.

Leben pounded him, dropped him, and pounded some more. He was hitting him squarely while he was down … Sakara was in SERIOUS danger of being hurt, BAD … the stoppage was spot on.

good fight. sakara definitely has the more accurate striking. leben looked sloppy and wild. except those two left hooks. they always work, my favorite punch. leben was losing the fight before he dropped him, and looked much worse for the wear afterwords. the stoppage is not controversial, but i would have let him get hit a couple of more times first, he did look like he was trying to recover. he was in guard.

i like leben a lot. he might not be the most skilled, but he has tremendous heart and always puts on a good show.

hey Luke, what fight were you watching? Which one of Sakara’s punches, that did nothing to Leben, leads you to believe that he would have won the fight if he got up? Just because a guy is getting hit doesn’t mean he is getting hurt. Sakara is a good fundamental boxer, but he has no power behind his shots. As opposed to Leben, who is sloppy and unskilled but has stone hands. Leben has been training with Penn, he may become a contender, but never wins a title in this top heavy division.

I think the stoppage was mostly academic. If it was too soon, two more bombs and he would’ve been out.

I always pick Leben to lose and somehow he grinds out these brawling victories. Alessio “Glass Jaw” Sakara has great skills, but an extremely suspect chin. It’s unfortunate that he’s ended up becoming a highlight reel.

It looks like many of you didnt even saw the fight, he was hit on the side of the head (temple), not the chin!

Also, sakara wasnt even at guard, his legs were not even holding lebens body.. so you have to agree he was definitely knocked out! Leben did great.

Leben has got a chin, If you were to judge the fight on face damage haha Leben would have lost. But no, good stoppage. Herb already decided to jump in after two undefended blows to the face and wasn’t going to let Sakara eat a third even though it looked like Sakara was going to try to get up Herb was already all over it.

Leben should be given another shot at Anderson Silva with one stipulation. Silva must be injected with a sedative and hog tied, and then MAYBE Leben would have a shot.

Leben is a brawler… no question about that. But it takes far more than his chin and looping shots to be a real title contender. Put him up against Marquardt, Lutter, or Franklin and he would get demolished. Sakara has the potential to be a really good fighter, after he learns more head movement and how to deal with guys that come fast and swinging like Leben and Alexander.

i honestly believe leben and lutter are the only two mw’s who can beat silva if they are EXTREMELY lucky
look, i know he has already beat both but these are my reasons:
1. chris likes to bang as does silva so if they were bangin leben can catch silva and ko him, i doubt it but hey its very possible and leben does have a awesome chin
2.lutter is superb on the ground like in their first match if the fight goes to da ground he can submit silva its possible

but i doubt anyone can beat silva, ANYONE!!!!!!
