Log in to Reply chitdik April 14, 2012 Good sportsmanship on Stanns part.. Log in to Reply PitfighterZ April 14, 2012 I saw in another site that Sakara KOed Stann and thought WTF??? It was supposed to be an easy fight for Stann! Well, it was. And the way Stann noticed Sakara being KOed shows both brains and class. Log in to Reply DavidJones April 14, 2012 stann’s the man.nice knees also, i dont think anyone is surprised by the outcome. Log in to Reply libo April 14, 2012 hats off to brian stann, good dude right there Log in to Reply keyboardcowboy April 14, 2012 class Log in to Reply Sico April 14, 2012 Some brutal knees delivered by Stann. Surprised that Sakara made it past those. I wish there was some option to hide the total time of a video before you play. Knowing the length removes a little bit of the element of surprise. I usually do my best to not notice how long a fight is, but it’s hard to not notice. Does anyone have any suggestions how one can avoid seeing the length of a video? I’ve gone from using my hand or a piece of paper to block the time, squinting/moving back so I can’t make it out and trying to position my window so the time and scan bar can’t be seen. It’s really not that big of a deal, but I always wondered what others think about knowing the length of a fight before watching. Then again, I love seeing a video and knowing it’s less than 5-6 minutes. You know it’s almost guaranteed to end with a ko/tko/sub. And I usually sigh when the times are 18-19 minutes and you know right off the bat that it’s going to the judges. I usually wait to find out if the fight was worth watching or just skip to the end. Log in to Reply Kill em All April 14, 2012 WOW!!! Stann has power Log in to Reply glenn April 14, 2012 good lord, that was some short range power shot, good eye by the refree and by stann Log in to Reply cart3r April 14, 2012 @ Sico, I feel the same way about the time thing. Unfortunately, i don’t know how to get rid of it Log in to Reply StinkStik April 14, 2012 He should have kept throwing punches! These guys play possum alot and Stann should have kept pounding away. He got lucky that Suckara did not get back up and really kick his ass. I know right? Log in to Reply MMA is taking over April 14, 2012 Stann. What a guy. I enjoy rooting for him. I hope he works on his wrestling so he can hang with the top dogs, and combo that with his good karma points to make a run Log in to Reply Biggle April 14, 2012 @Sico Yea, I’m the exact same way. What I did for this one was use my hand to cover up where the time display is but make sure you maximize to full screen mode. Then alll you need to see is the far left where the play button is. Click it and wait a few seconds to remove your hand before the display disappears and then your just watching nothing but the fight as its happening….spoiler free. Log in to Reply peruviannecktie April 14, 2012 Sakara has the best tattoos in MMA, too bad he has a glass chin to go with them Log in to Reply Buster Hymen April 14, 2012 Brian Stan = Pure Class He just bumped up further on my list. I would like to see Stan vs. Bisbing or Munoz Log in to Reply anon April 14, 2012 Stann is the epitome of what a fighter should be. Log in to Reply chiroguy April 14, 2012 To Sico and cart3r…i usually have my lady giving me head when i watch the fights and her head seems to block the fight length time…i can’t help you fellas!!! Log in to Reply Tempted April 14, 2012 Great sportsmanship by Stann, but I wouldn’t have done it. Look at the Mir/Nog fight and the Kongo/Barry fight. Both times the fighters were OUT, but the ref didn’t stop the fights and they came back to win. I throw until the ref stops me. Log in to Reply SinkTheHooks April 14, 2012 Stann nothing but class, amazing fighter Log in to Reply bob April 15, 2012 Good sportsmanship – it’s a SPORT. Any jerk trying to hurt the other person unnecessarily is just that: a jerk. Log in to Reply PitfighterZ April 15, 2012 @Tempted: The situation is very different. Stann had total control of the position and Sakara was clearly out. If the ref didn’t stop the fight, Stann could easily continue to pound without any risk. When you fight in this level, you know the difference. Log in to Reply dave April 15, 2012 Much respect to Stan! see that’s the kind fighter I respect a lot! Log in to Reply murell April 15, 2012 Brian Stann.is great for the sport, very tough smart and classy. Log in to Reply DaBigFish April 15, 2012 @chrioguy… Sounds kinda homo-erotic by you to watch dudes in their underwear roll around and you get aroused to the point that you have to have your girl give you head. Stop lying to her, just come out – love is love, dont worry their is no 10-9 round in love. we all know you get none – not hate’n just call’n. Log in to Reply FailSonnen April 15, 2012 @Sico: It’s called….HITTING FULL SCREEN The clock disappears at that point Log in to Reply Zio April 15, 2012 Respect @Stann. This is how the ethics within mma should be. Log in to Reply Tempted April 15, 2012 Do you guys remember the Bitchping team fighter last season on TUF? Tapped but the ref didn’t see it, the opponent let go but the pansy that tapped said he didn’t. He won the fight because the other guy stopped before the ref stopped him. Guys like Mir, Aoki, Wandi, Silva all throw until the ref steps in. Pat Barry thought Kongo was out and waited for the ref to stop it, you see what happened. Nog hesitated when fighting Mir and got caught after he thought he KOed him. Carwin eased up on Brock, Cung eased up on Smith, remember Hughs vs Trigg? Always keep throwing, even if they are pitter patter shots, until the fight is stopped. Log in to Reply China man April 15, 2012 @ Sico . . . . . …cool story bro Log in to Reply Crocography April 15, 2012 Hated Stann until tonight. The respect he showed tonight won me over. Log in to Reply yourmomsucks April 15, 2012 Please don’t remove the time. It saves me having to sit through snoozefests that end in a decision. I only watch fights where someone is finished. Log in to Reply op_of_faith April 15, 2012 Damn…some of these comments…SMDH…Stann took a chance on doing the right thing and, thankfully, has gotten public recognition and reward… Log in to Reply Ozinator April 15, 2012 Only Brian Stann can lose a number one contender fight and have the courage to fight the best available! What an American hero! (wait, who did he fight? UFC loves them some military lol) Log in to Reply BisbeeHighGrade April 15, 2012 Brian Stann, what else would you expect from a man which as an officer has took and given orders which resulted in deaths of said enemy combatants. He has class, indeed and from knowing the true value of life. How difficult it is to create yet easy to take. At least thats my perspective on a partial into his choice to stop and in that fashion. He’s a great guy, humble and intelligent with an overall demeanor of an officer. Great fight, fantastic in every way from start to finish. The finish helps bring the sport to the public. The knees he threw were powerful and on the sweet spot, A.S took them well but Brian never stopped his pace for in instant. I’m reminded of vintage Wanderlei in some ways, many ways actually. Sweden will be a European center for MMA in the following years to come.
