Some brutal knees delivered by Stann. Surprised that Sakara made it past those.
I wish there was some option to hide the total time of a video before you play. Knowing the length removes a little bit of the element of surprise. I usually do my best to not notice how long a fight is, but it’s hard to not notice. Does anyone have any suggestions how one can avoid seeing the length of a video? I’ve gone from using my hand or a piece of paper to block the time, squinting/moving back so I can’t make it out and trying to position my window so the time and scan bar can’t be seen. It’s really not that big of a deal, but I always wondered what others think about knowing the length of a fight before watching.
Then again, I love seeing a video and knowing it’s less than 5-6 minutes. You know it’s almost guaranteed to end with a ko/tko/sub. And I usually sigh when the times are 18-19 minutes and you know right off the bat that it’s going to the judges. I usually wait to find out if the fight was worth watching or just skip to the end.

@Sico Yea, I’m the exact same way. What I did for this one was use my hand to cover up where the time display is but make sure you maximize to full screen mode. Then alll you need to see is the far left where the play button is. Click it and wait a few seconds to remove your hand before the display disappears and then your just watching nothing but the fight as its happening….spoiler free.

Great sportsmanship by Stann, but I wouldn’t have done it. Look at the Mir/Nog fight and the Kongo/Barry fight. Both times the fighters were OUT, but the ref didn’t stop the fights and they came back to win. I throw until the ref stops me.

@Tempted: The situation is very different. Stann had total control of the position and Sakara was clearly out. If the ref didn’t stop the fight, Stann could easily continue to pound without any risk.
When you fight in this level, you know the difference.

Do you guys remember the Bitchping team fighter last season on TUF? Tapped but the ref didn’t see it, the opponent let go but the pansy that tapped said he didn’t. He won the fight because the other guy stopped before the ref stopped him. Guys like Mir, Aoki, Wandi, Silva all throw until the ref steps in. Pat Barry thought Kongo was out and waited for the ref to stop it, you see what happened. Nog hesitated when fighting Mir and got caught after he thought he KOed him. Carwin eased up on Brock, Cung eased up on Smith, remember Hughs vs Trigg? Always keep throwing, even if they are pitter patter shots, until the fight is stopped.

Brian Stann, what else would you expect from a man which as an officer has took and given orders which resulted in deaths of said enemy combatants. He has class, indeed and from knowing the true value of life. How difficult it is to create yet easy to take. At least thats my perspective on a partial into his choice to stop and in that fashion. He’s a great guy, humble and intelligent with an overall demeanor of an officer. Great fight, fantastic in every way from start to finish. The finish helps bring the sport to the public. The knees he threw were powerful and on the sweet spot, A.S took them well but Brian never stopped his pace for in instant. I’m reminded of vintage Wanderlei in some ways, many ways actually. Sweden will be a European center for MMA in the following years to come. Bruno, again thank you as always
