Ufc Fight Night video of Alberto Crane versus Kurt Pellegrino at The Palms in Las Vegas. |

Very nice comeback… this kid’s got some heavy hands… I wasn’t surprised he came back.
great fight!
Man, Alberto needs to seriously work on his stand up. In any event, horrible stoppage, he covered his face because he got hit in the eye. Hell, if someone hits me in the eye, i would probably do the exact same thing.
good fight
Crane dropped him with that kick. Fair play, Pellegrino ate it1
That was a nasty shot to eat only moments into the fight. Crane needs to work on his boxing. His ju jitsu never seemed to threaten Pelligrino who dominated with some good GnP.
I had Crane winning this fight going in, but I didn’t realize just how poor his stand-up game was. I think he’s a great example of how just trying to play jiu-jitsu in an MMA match doesn’t work anymore. He needs to get with a good camp and work exclusively on striking.
That was a nasty whole in Batmans lip. Good call by the ref, you have to stay composed… getting poked in the eye happens a lot.
Very poor stoppage,Good fight though and even though I think Kurt would have won anyway seeing a stoppage like that demeans the sport.Even if kurt had managed to land a couple more punches there Alberto was hardly in danger of any serious injury.
I thought it was a fair stoppage, ref saw crane covering his eye while kurt was pounding on him clean. Rule is if you stop defending yourself he has to stop the fight. Plus, better to stop the fight too early than too late. Crane can go home to his family and fight another day. I’ll take a loss anyday and go back to the gym and work on it than being a vegetable and never having to be able to fight again.
Anytime you are being struck by a professional fighter and you are not defending yourself you are in serious danger (Brendan). If you ever compete you will have to talk to refs and there are plenty of stories of serious head trauma. Sometimes hits are WAY harder than they look, it’s not all about strength… you have to factor in location of the blows.
