If Anderson continues to fight; it’s only a matter of time before someone proves they have his number. Why not someone like Belcher? It’s not impossible.

come merdha anderson …

Hawaiian Says, in 7-18-2012 at 21:21:45 from

Alan definitely has the ability to beat, even finish Anderson Silva. I think Anderson’s last win was his last one as champion.

Thanewage403 Says, in 7-18-2012 at 21:25:55 from

Belcher lost to Jason “dooms” Day. lawls, Belcher would not beat Silva, He needs to fight Chris weidman, then maybe Anderson Silva. Weidman would not beat Silva either, Americans just want to see someone american beat Silva.

If him and Vitor fight again I willing to be everything the outcome will be very different. I wont call it a lucky kick cause he threw it and it landed but Vitor just wasn’t expecting that kick, he’ll be better prepared next time.

I’ve been wanting to see this fight for years. I hope it happens!

sticky Says, in 7-18-2012 at 21:34:34 from

I’m sure many fighters believed they could beat him before getting in there.

scoobysnack Says, in 7-18-2012 at 21:35:33 from

The belcher that dumped Cote on his head and beat Palhares can beat anyone at 185lb on any given night. The thing with A. Silva is that no matter how many times he finds himself in a bad spot he ALWAYS finds a way to win, it’s just freakin’ amazing, so while i wouldn’t bet against Silva, Belcher and several other MW’s certainly have what it takes to beat him. Hell, Sonnen was less than 2 minutes away from doing so, so why not Weidman who is light years better on the ground and on the feet.

A lot of good fighters have lost to Jason Day

jeckle Says, in 7-18-2012 at 22:46:43 from

He’s not convincing me that he can beat Anderson, much less sounds convinced himself that he can win.

Belfort has knock out power and good grappling; Forrest was largest fighter Anderson has fought – yes Forrest is slow; Dan Henderson was the heaviest handed fighter Anderson fought; Damian Mia best on the ground… etc etc etc.

Alan doesn’t have anything more than those guys had, even when putting it all together.

Belcher needs to fight Weidman, Bisping, or Lombard (if he wins his upcoming fight). The later three need to fight to determine the #1 contender. Unless those three fight, there is no clear #1 who deserves a shot at Anderson.

jeckle Says, in 7-18-2012 at 22:52:58 from

Everyone seems to be talking about why they’re a bad matchup for Anderson or how they are the one who will beat Anderson.

I think they’re all realizing Anderson’s age is going to soon be a factor in his fights and want to capitalize on that. If Anderson keeps fighting, his age is going to affect him and his timing. That’ll eventually cost him the win and the belt.

He’s 37, he should enjoy the fact that he destroyed a division, made a statement in another division and never lost in the UFC. It’d be different if he was still “young”, but he’s not. Go down as the greatest fighter ever to walk into the octagon.

Genghis Khan Says, in 7-18-2012 at 22:55:16 from

lol… this would be such a mismatch.

pillowhands Says, in 7-19-2012 at 01:33:38 from

I like Alan but he doesnt stand a chance vs Spider. Alan’s more ok at everything but Spider excells at everything and will pick Alan apart on their feet. Look what happened to Vitor and hes the best striker (after Spider) in the divis.

Spider 2nd rd tko

MangyMongoose Says, in 7-19-2012 at 02:56:17 from

I really want to see this fight, Belcher was robbed at UFC 100, watch it again. He should have a longer win streak.

Drew Says, in 7-19-2012 at 03:00:06 from

Belcher is one of those guys who can beat 90% of the division, but Silva is a terrible matchup for him. The same goes for Bisping. I really think Lombard or Weidman stand the best chance.

donnie Says, in 7-19-2012 at 03:48:55 from

Oh my god, Belcher’s on crack. Does he honestly believe he has a “speed” advantage against Silva? He is as delusional as Bisping. Silva would destroy Belcher (and Bisping). Won’t even be close. Silva by tko, whatever round he feels like it.

joaoblade Says, in 7-19-2012 at 06:30:04 from

alan belcher is a great fighter, but silva is better.

EricJE Says, in 7-19-2012 at 07:46:53 from

Hector Lomgard would beat A. Silva given the chance

Rio_Warrior Says, in 7-19-2012 at 09:01:37 from

ye now you beat Paul Harris and all of a sudden start talkin nonsense.

As long as the age effect doesnt kick in AS will be undefeated, maybe Vitor can put him out, maybe…

I wanna See Belfort VS Weidman.

UnbanNickDiaz Says, in 7-19-2012 at 12:02:56 from

Alan Belcher will beat Anderson. Hell, I thought Rousimar Paulharris Palhares would be the one to beat Silva, and we all saw what Alan Belcher did to ol Rousy

Reallynow? Says, in 7-19-2012 at 14:20:27 from

You’re making fun of Belcher because he lost to jason doomday? LMFAO. Dude, go look at the list of Anderson’s losses. A few are NO NAMERS. You f***** toolbag. lmfao.

anderson cheats Says, in 7-19-2012 at 17:27:45 from

Any 185er can beat anderson on a good day.

inanebignate Says, in 7-19-2012 at 17:33:25 from

I think he would be one of the most well rounded guys anderson has faced. I still would favor anderson in this fight but you can never count out belcher. I think there are a couple guys now at 185 who could be a legit threat to anderson. Lombard, Wiedman, and Belcher. And also Vitor has a good chance with anyone if he goes for the kill right off the bat and lets his hands fly. I was definitely perplexed when he fought Anderson how he did not rush him but instead let anderson gauge his distance and get his timing down. especially after seeing how successful chael was by not letting him get his timing down. Vitors most successful fights is when he pressures guys early and quickly closes the distance early and use his solid boxing coupled with his insane hand speed to put ppl out

Danby Says, in 7-19-2012 at 19:07:50 from

Anderson silva is like how fedor use to be. Fedor’s best attribute was being able to take advantage of ANY mistake his opponent did instantly. One mistake and it was game over for most people.

Unfortunately he lost the will to fight and just came in swinging for the fences. Anderson silva still has that ability. Hes like a sniper for mistakes.

I think chael did identify a weakenss in his game, but the second time around silva was doing alot better on his back. Chael barely was able to touch him.

I don’t know if this means anderson is better then before or he just hated chael so much he wanted it again.

It probably would be best for him to just retire and enjoy his life now. Hes what 37? Quit while hes ontop and still healthy. Even ali had and expiry date and look what happened to him when he kept trying to fight(not his disease, his many losses after the fact)

Joe Dog Says, in 7-20-2012 at 10:00:31 from

Here’s an idea: throw a really stupid awkward spinning back fist, loose your balance, fall to your ass, sit against the fence and wait for Silva to kick and punch you into oblivion when you know your best chance is to take his skinny ass to the mat and pound him out. Silva is magic on his feet. TAKE HIM DOWN! I believe Silva will loose soon. Who will it be? Any number of MWs have what it takes.

mmafan400 Says, in 7-20-2012 at 13:46:30 from

eventually someone will beat silva, because he’ll be old enough where he can’t keep up, unless he retires. but it’s not belcher, and definitely not now.

Schism Says, in 7-22-2012 at 18:32:08 from

of course he is going to say he knows how to beat Anderson. All fighters want to be champion or they wouldn’t be in this sport. Belcher on the other hand, is not good enough to beat Anderson Silva. 10+ fighters in the UFC said that they had his number and look where they ended up!
