silvia has complete advantage in terms of reach and sheer size, but fedor wins this hands down. Look at how he arm bared the giant!!

Going to go out on a HUGE limb here, and say that I think Tim Sylvia will eek out a win in this one.

Here is why…

Sprawl. The guy has ungodly long legs and I think any take down attemps by Feedor (who I wholey believe is the pfp best MMA fighter out there) will be stuffed for the most part. This being said….it may very well wind up being a stand up game…and Sylvia will play it smart and stay as far away as he can. He will use his jab, throw rights sparingly and move, move, move. We dont really know how well Feedor takes a punch, cause he really hasnt to date. But I think as long as Sylvia can keep Feedor on his feet and at arms length, he has a chance to pull out a win.

Which would set up Couture vs Sylvai II, which no one wants to see. We want Randy vs Feedor, and we have all waited plenty long enough.

I’d say that Smitty is obviously in denial of Tim Sylvia’s speed. He is a huge, slow power puncher who doesn’t move much or have much of a take-down defense, and if he happens to surprise me with this then I’m almost positive he will be gassed out by the second round. Fedor has also taken some heavy hands/feet in his day esp. with his fight against Mirko Cro-Cop where he was rocked by several punches and at least one head kick. I’d say if it wasn’t going Fedor’s way on the stand up (even though I think it will despite the reach disadvantage) he should be able to take down big n’ slow Silvia almost at will. Where he will most obviously dominate. Although it may take a while for Fedor to catch him…..Hey Arlovski caught Silvia why can’t Emelianenko?!

If anyone doesn’t know if fedor can take a punch cuz he hasn’t to date, after 27 wins against many mma legends in their prime, not now, that speaks for its self. Anyone will get knocked the fuck out if they are hit with a decent enough hit, it doesn’t have to be perfect but if you want to see if fedor can take damage, take a look at the famous clip where he almost gets his neck broken against randlemann or gets cracked by cro cop and stumbles as he retreats across the ring then fires back with a long looping hook and sends cro cop stumbling and hits the floor. Take a look at the fight where Kazuyuki Fujita knocks the sense out of fedor and the guy doesn’t even fall down, he just holds on, fights through it and finishes the fight a moment later. You think he can’t deal with size, look at the schemy schilt fight at the beginning of his pride career not the hong man choi fight. This fight coming up is going to be more close then people think and sylvia may just knock his black off, thats the way fights work, I just think fedor has a lot more going for him.

If Fedor is taking this fight seriously, which I’m sure he has, as he has all his fights, I don’t see him having any more trouble than Randy at taking Silvia down..I could be wrong tho..

people forget that fedor is always the smaller man, with a very few exceptions. fedor has proven that if need be he will out kick anyone in the world, if need be be out strike anyone in the world, out wrestle anyone in the world, and can submit anyone in the world, and most importantly, he is very very smart in the ring, not to mention his conditioning is second to none, Anything can happen in MMA, so Tim Sylvia is a threat, he is no slouch, but he has never fought anyone like fedor, especially if fedor hurts him early. size is not a big deal with fedor, hell he trains with his younger bro alexander everyday, who is as big as sylvia, and i would say better than sylvia. fedor will be ready for this fight no doubt, fedor in one round.

Sprawl doesn’t matter with Fedor, as he doesn’t attempt singles or doubles… he clinches the opponent’s core with a tight grip and rips his hips to the right, twisting the bigs down.

i dont think anderson silva is pound for pound the best fighter in the world, he hasnt fought enough top class fighters, i definitely think he is top ten, but not one. I think number one is fedor, just look at the list of ppl he fought and beat, not to mention, ppl who were in their prime back at pride such as micro cro cop
