SCALING THE FENCE WAS EPIC!!!

I was happy to see no head blows. This is not cool. They have kids Pancrase here in the U.S. and I just won’t left my son compete. He is part of a gym here in SoCal that boasts 6 World Champion kids in BJJ. With Pancrase they are allowed no head blows.

Watching a kid do a guillotine at that age is scary. It is illegal in competition BJJ under the age of 14.

All that being said… the little 6 year old has amazing skills.

@SEAN_VANCE, they are also so small and weak that their “blows” can’t deliver real punishment, so I think it cancels out. This is fine, in my opinion and the respect and sportsmanship was awesome. However, I have absolutely no clue what units they were using for the heights and weights.

MMA is going to be dominated by third world countries in the future if this is how early countries are training mma fighters. this would be totally illegal in first world countries like the us, canada, and britian. jose aldo, jr dos santos, and anderson silva are brazilians that don’t even speak english but are dominating the ufc which is an american company because of the brazilian fight culture and lax fight laws

To all the bitches posting stuff about it being too dangerous. Anybody who knows the s*** about martial arts knows that it is very very unlikely for anybody under 120 pounds to knock somebody else out. If one of them put his head on the canvas and let the other kid punch him in the head for 15 minutes…there might not even be a knockout then… They just dont have the physical power to knock each other out.

8- year old kids have been thai boxing for hundreds of years and the damage is minimal.

mygif
martialist Says, in 7-16-2012 at 10:05:13 from 108.240.109.106

@baller,
first of all you’re a douche for thinking that the US is the birthplace of wrestling hahaha Made me laugh though. It makes me look dumber [than you] for even replying to your comment.
second, while kids their age are being taught that martial arts – or any other sports for that matter – is all about having fun, just doing your best, bring your whole family, it’s okay to lose as long as you keep in mind that #1 is to have fun fun fun *yaaaaay* clap clap clap! Kids in all other countries are taking it seriously – as fighting should be!
So, I’d like to see a kid their age (or even older) from the US go up against one of these two and not end up in tears in mid fight hahaha
And why do some americans -usually the cheap beer guzzling ones who are completely mma-illiterate and boo when the fight goes to the ground- think that every fighter has to fight and win in the US in order to be considered a legit fighter? Since when does the US set the standards for fighter status?

PitfighterZ Says, in 7-16-2012 at 10:32:23 from 67.172.197.12

@muppetoflove – You don’t need to be KOed to sustain concussions and being punched in the head can cause serious development problems, especially brain functions. Also, getting choked out is much more dangerous to younger kids than it is to adults.

I don’t see any problems with this competition as long as the rules prohibit repeated shots to the head and the ref. can step in before any of the kids is actually choked out. It becomes more of a problem if, like in Thailand, adults start betting their whole future on the kids (but that happens all around the world with other sports, too).

Anyway you slice this, this is Child Abuse. It’s not so much about the physical aspect, but the emotional one.

100% child abuse.

although not much worse than those American Parents who enter their toddlers into beauty competions i.e. “Toddlers in Tiara’s”

BOTH sets of parents should be dragged into the streets and shot, 0r at the very least have their reproductive organs removed

Its fine, these guys aren’t going to do any major damage, and it seems like they know when to tap. Its not them you should be worried about, it is the other kids at school that are going to get beat up by these little beasts that will get hurt.

As long as they show the sportsmanship aspect of the competition. This could be a little bit extreme and may need to have more amateur guidelines so as to protect young minds. Still beats them learning the Armenian trade of selling used cars in USA!

The only thing more depressing than 7 year olds fighting in an Armenian bar is their moms working the strip-club upstairs owned by the same guy holding their passports for “safekeeping.” He’s of course offered them “good money, American dollars, Euros, great opportunity, very exclusive, yes my friend, bak shish bak shish” Exploitation homeys. This is how it’s done.

This is less dangerous than any sport that involves speed and possible blows to the head, ie. soccer, football, hockey, etc. for kids this age. Although I don’t think they allow hitting in hockey until they’re older. Of course, kids messing around at recess get banged up worse than all those lol.

They don’t have enough power to really hurt each other.
