Hilarious that there’s even a discussion on whether this is an amateur fight. I really hope that was that kids first fight without training because he had nothing going for him. With that said, this fight shouldn’t have even been allowed. At that mans age and condition, he was definitely liable for a very serious injury had he been fighting someone who knew what they were doing.

Also, can some of you please read a book? Some of your comments are laughably intolerable.

This is the first time I’ve posted. I’m posting because there is just way too much misinformation and confusion here.

I’m a big fat guy that used to box a bit, do a bit of MMA. I’ve been in fights, and even though I look smooth with good technique in the gym I look like s*** when the fight starts. It sucks!

What happens is you tense up and your form goes to s***. You start windmilling around, you forget EVERYTHING. You can get so tense your nerves take over and you gas out in like 30 seconds. Even if you can go 3 rounds hard in training no problem. Your nerves just F*** you hard.

That old man has done some boxing in the past. He’s no pro or anything, but he was able to conquer his nerves a bit, calm down, and toss one straight down the pipe. More than one actually. Plus some jabs.

NO ONE throws a right down the pipe like that without training. He probably works that bag at home.

They don’t look trained to you because you are used to seeing pros. These are two amateur enthusiasts, and this fight is typical of the quality you get when non-athletic guys do their first fight.

Brings back memories. I looked JUST LIKE that. Grah. Flailing all over. So frustrating. Train so hard to just look like s***. Lol. You calm down over your next couple of bouts though and then it gets smoother.

I loved this fight! The old dude has probably done the shady circuit during his days. Probably has some boxing and back alley fighting experience, maybe even some high school wrestling (that’s why he didn’t give his back) or he just might be training and decided to give it a shot.
He’s what I call a “Tank Abbot” or any guy who will take any last-minute fight, sometimes even getting off the bar stool to fight and get back to the stool 30 minutes later.
About Bonnar being there, what’s the problem with that? Any legit fighter supports amateur events and he might be scouting some new talent to invest. He is not getting any younger and putting money in new talent is usually a good move for old fighters. Although, in this case I would put my money on the “old fart talent.” Watching this guy kicking the kid’s ass makes me want to give another shot at fighting, actually.
The kid… well, he either has no talent as a fighter or no talent as an actor. In both cases, he should hit the books. At least, books don’t hit back like old men do.
