Brilliant to see a real discussion with sensible opinions that cut to the chase. Unlike most s*** I see on TV or Net. I had Hendricks winning 3 round to 2 but I can see how GSP got the decision. Not the huge controversy that every1 makes out.

Completely agree with dave. There in no big controversy here. Like fighter, I scored it 1-3-5 for GSP but I can also see the point to be made for Hendricks winning round 1. All in all good close fight. The judges are not to blame for this one. The scoring system is.

Johny was robbed but of course the UFC propaganda machine is now in full force since both Dana and Rogan have said Johny won (not to mention almost every MMA fighter on the planet who watched the fight believing Johny won). It doesn’t hurt they are working their way toward an immediate rematch. You can’t give GSP round one with any honesty. GSP lost the first round, badly. He won the first minute and then got his butt handed to him the last 4 minutes. Re-watch the first round. The judges who gave GSP the first round ate real good that night.

the only round I gave to GSP was round five. Get of out of here with that ridiculousness. I bet everyone commenting here bleeds maple syrup

Time for the 10 point must system to go! At it’s heart, this sport is about digging deep to find one’s core survival instinct and about violent imposition of the will to become champion. It is not about eeking out victories, or gathering a nice collection of fight statistics to hold on and win by points. Clearly, we aren’t going to see a knockout every time, but we should be able to discern that someone has that core drive intact. I can understand round 1 going to GSP, but if we were watching this fight in the absence of rounds and fight stats, there is no question about who the winner was. Hendricks took GSP to the brink and almost knocked him unconscious several times, where GSP never really put Hendricks in danger at all. I love GSP and I really do think he fought his heart out, but I generally see Hendricks as the uncrowned champ. 10 point must has to go.

GSP lost the first quit rationalizing. He lost it outright. GSP did nothing in the first but a takedown. That is all he did. Johny pressed the action and landed the better strikes minutes 2-5.

1 through 5 all GSP, Hendricks had flurries in 2 and 4 maybe even won 2 but that’s it. Hope GSP retires just to put Dana White in his place, that ignorant piece of trash. Tito should have beat his ass when he had a chance.

I was high when I watched this so I only remember the fight like it was a highlight. I Remember Hendricks dropping GSP a couple times. I remember Hendricks getting the better of the boxing. I remember gsp attempting to control Hendricks against the cage but not being very successful. Overall Hendricks had gsp in trouble a bunch of times, gsp stayed tough and hung in there but never really put Hendricks in any trouble besides like that one guillotine from what I remember.

Judges should start scoring rounds 10-8 or 10-10 more often. If you drop your opponent and almost finish him make that s*** a 10-8. If it was a close and debatable round make it a 10-10. If one guy out hustled the other guy make it a 10-9.
